Kokoa Asano has lived here her entire life. To her, the customs and beliefs of the village are simply part of everyday life. The villagers share a deep sense of closeness, living together like one extended family.

On certain nights during the year, the villagers gather for an old seasonal ritual. Torches illuminate the open field at the center of the village while the cool mountain wind moves gently through the trees. The atmosphere is calm, almost sacred.
